Fire Up the Grill — Burgers & Corn

The gas grill out back is hooked to the house — no tank, no fuss. Perfect summer night: juicy burgers and sweet corn, all done outside.

What you'll grab

  • Ground beef (⅓ lb per person) or pre-made patties
  • Burger buns + sliced cheese
  • Fresh ears of corn
  • Lettuce, tomato, onion, pickles
  • Ketchup, mustard, mayo · salt & pepper

How

  1. Turn on the gas grill and let it heat to medium-high (~10 min, lid down).
  2. Form patties, season both sides. Pull back husks on the corn (or wrap in foil).
  3. Grill burgers ~4 min a side to 160°F; grill corn ~10 min, turning, until charred in spots.
  4. Toast the buns on the grill the last minute. Build and enjoy outside.

Sheet-Pan Chicken & Veggies

Toss it all on one pan and let the oven do the work. About as little cleanup as dinner gets.

What you'll grab

  • Chicken thighs (or breasts)
  • Baby potatoes
  • Broccoli or green beans
  • A bell pepper

How

  1. Heat oven to 425°F.
  2. Chop potatoes small and veg into chunks; toss with oil + seasoning on a sheet pan.
  3. Nestle the chicken on top.
  4. Roast 30–35 min, until chicken reaches 165°F.

One-Pan Sausage, Peppers & Rice

Smoky, hearty, and everything cooks in a single skillet.

What you'll grab

  • Smoked sausage / kielbasa
  • 2 bell peppers + an onion
  • Instant or microwave rice
  • Olive oil, garlic, Cajun or Italian seasoning

How

  1. Slice the sausage, peppers, and onion.
  2. Brown sausage in a little oil, add peppers + onion, cook until soft.
  3. Stir in the rice + seasoning and warm through.

Taco Night, Your Way

Everyone builds their own. Brown some beef — or after a travel day, grab a rotisserie chicken and skip the stove entirely.

  • Ground beef or a store rotisserie chicken
  • Taco seasoning
  • Tortillas
  • Cheese, lettuce, tomato, salsa, sour cream

How

  1. Brown beef + add seasoning and a splash of water (or just shred the rotisserie chicken).
  2. Warm the tortillas.
  3. Set out the toppings and let everyone build their own.

Air-Fryer Wings & Fries

Let the air fryer do the work — crispy wings and fries, no deep-frying and hardly any cleanup. Great for game-on-the-couch or feeding the kids.

What you'll grab

  • Fresh or frozen chicken wings
  • Bag of frozen fries
  • Your favorite wing sauce (buffalo, BBQ)
  • Olive oil spray, salt, pepper, garlic powder
  • Ranch or blue cheese + celery

How

  1. Pat wings dry, toss with a little oil + seasoning.
  2. Air-fry wings at 380°F ~22–24 min, shaking halfway, until crisp (165°F+).
  3. Air-fry the fries in a batch at 400°F ~15 min.
  4. Toss wings in sauce and serve with the dips.
